Canon has today announced a new digital camera for the American market, the PowerShot A200. The A200 has a compact design with built-in (rotary-style) sliding lens cover over a 39mm-equivalent fixed focal-length lens. The 2.0 megapixel CCD imager gives JPEG images up to 1600 x 1200 pixels, in three different quality levels. Images are stored on Type-I CompactFlash cards, and power comes from 2 AA batteries.
