Booth Report: Concord

Concord Camera Corp. showed a wide range of digital cameras on its booth at PMA - some brand new, and others announced late last year.

The company achieved a measure of success with its 3346z digital camera, a three megapixel model that won an award as the "Best Digital Camera under $100" in the DIMA Digital Camera Shoot-Out. For the DIMA test, a range of cameras from various manufacturers and product categories captured an identical scene in a live model studio. Prints were made of the images, not labelled to show which camera had taken the image. DIMA judges then selected the images they felt best captured the scene, with only samples of the fabrics worn by the models in the test photos for reference as to color accuracy.

New models for the show from Concord included the EasyShot 500z (five megapixel, 3x optical zoom), 5040 (five megapixel, fixed focal length), 4042 (four megapixel, fixed focal length), and 3047 (three megapixel, fixed focal length). The company also announced several cameras which will ship late in the year, and hence weren't on display at the show; these included the 5042, EasyShot 510z and EasyShot 820z.
