Welcome to Imaging Resource's PMA 2010 Tradeshow Coverage! The Photo Marketing Association's Spring tradeshow is the largest photo-centric show in North America, and we'll be reporting for the twelfth straight year. 22:04 EST - Hoya Corp. has today announced a rather handsome-looking special limited-edition version of its Pentax K-7 prosumer single-lens reflex digital camera. The Pentax K-7 Limited Silver takes the existing K-7 body, and replaces several of the black body panels with silver-finished panels. These include the top and bottom panels, plus the upper surface of the popup flash strobe, and the panel comprising the bottom of the viewfinder prism and lens mount surround. 19:55 EST - Casio has introduced two new digital cameras for this year's PMA show, both entry-level units with affordable pricing. The Casio S7 and Casio Z35 are closely related, sharing the same lens, and similar image sensors as well as much of their firmware functionality. Although their 1/2.3-inch sensors do differ, both cameras have effective resolutions of twelve megapixels. The S7 and Z35 share a 3x optical zoom lens that has a rather tight 35.5mm wide angle, and a maximum aperture of F3.1 to F5.6 across the zoom range.... (More) |

03:40 EST - Rounding out its pre-PMA announcements, Sigma has offered significantly more information on its upcoming SD15 digital SLR. First announced in September 2008 at the Photokina tradeshow, the Sigma SD15 is a direct successor to the now rather long-in-the-tooth SD14 model, which first shipped in March 2007. 03:24 EST - Sigma has today unveiled its new DP2s digital camera, a relatively minor update to the existing DP2 model which launched in September 2008. Like its predecessor, the Sigma DP2s is based aorund a near-APS-C sized Foveon image sensor, which yields a final image size of 4.7 megapixels. 03:07 EST - As the PMA show kicks off in Anaheim, California, Sigma has announced a refresh of its DP1 compact camera in the form of the Sigma DP1x. The DP1x retains the DP1's near-APS-C sized image sensor, which yields a final image size of 4.7 megapixels. The lens featured in the DP1x is also identical to that of its predecessor, being a fixed 28mm-equivalent with an f/4.0 maximum aperture.
